An interview with Sharon Potter on Massage Therapy
Q: What's your story (Tell us a little about yourself)?
A: I have a 4 year degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s in Education, and I am a certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. I also teach yoga and Tai Chi. I have always been interested in Massage Therapy and though this would be a great addition to all of my other areas of interests within the Health Fitness and Wellness field
Q: How did you get to PC?
A: I looked at a variety of Massage Schools, and as an employee of Maricopa Community Colleges, I was able to take up to 12 credits/semester at no cost to me other than course fees and books. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCollege has a good reputation and they had an evening cohort, so I could work and go to school. I selected Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCollege based on Reputation, Cost, Night classes and Convenience.
Q: What was your time like at PC?
A: I love learning, so I think I truly enjoyed the classes and the interaction with the other students while I was at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCollege. I felt that with these skills, I would really be able to make a difference in my small part of the world, and now 8 years later I know I am making a difference in the lives of my clients and I feel very grateful to PC for that gift.
Q: Any advice you would give to future PC students?
A: The Therapeutic Massage Program at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCollege is excellent if you want a “Hands-on “career (No pun intended). If you feel the need to help people, are compassionate, caring, and understand the power of human touch, then this could be the career for you. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCollege has a good reputable program, with caring, knowledgeable and professional instructors who will help you attain your career goals.
